*This position is based on a single campus*
In consultation with other school personnel, the Special Education Life Skills Teacher:
- Provides educational services to students with disabilities
- Is responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programs, and life skills instruction in the resource, inclusion, LID, and other instructional settings.

Qualifications: Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas Generalist/Core content Teaching Certification with required endorsements or training for relevant subject and level (preferred)
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification
Experience:
1 year of successful Special Education Life Skills teaching experience in a K-12 school (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and policies affecting special education
- Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies
- Knowledge of educational technology applications
